warranty, Returns & Exchange Policy

Wright Bladeworks guarantees its original knives for three years against most issues. If your knife has a fabrication defect, I'll repair or replace it at no charge. Contact me and we'll make arrangements.

What the warranty covers
My own fabrication. That's it — the parts I make, the work I do.

If you send me a knife to customize and it later fails because of a defect from the company that originally built it, that's on them, not me. I can only warranty what I create. Example: you send me a vintage piece from the '60s for new scales, and six months later the spring fails — I may be able to fix it, but that's a repair, not a warranty claim.

Natural materials
Materials like bone, ivory, horn, and wood move with temperature and humidity. They expand, contract, and react to how they're stored. Keep them out of a hot garage or a damp shed. Natural materials that cracks or shift from poor storage isn't a defect, and it isn't covered.

What the warranty does not cover
To be clear: this covers my fabrication defects only. I'm not responsible for normal wear and tear, misuse, improper storage, neglect, or the natural expansion and contraction some materials show over time.

Theft and loss
If your knife ships and then gets grabbed by a porch pirate or a light-fingered roommate before you get to it, that's on you. Insurance is available before I ship — just ask, and I'll add it to the cost.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

If you're thinking about returning a knife — or you suspect you might change your mind once it's in your hand — read this before you order.

Any knife may be returned, unused, within 15 days of the purchase date. Contact me first for return authorization before you send anything back.

  • There's a 10% restocking fee. Shipping and insurance are not included in that refund.

  • The knife must come back in original, unused condition, with any original box and packing.

  • No refunds or exchanges after 15 days — not because you changed your mind, and not because your spouse is threatening divorce over the purchase.

  • Custom work is not refundable. If you hire me to modify a knife, I can't return it to its original condition, so I can't take it back.

  • Paid shipping charges are non-refundable.

  • Any knife engraved with a name or markings you requested is non-refundable.

Damages and issues
Inspect your knife the moment it arrives. If something's wrong, contact me immediately so I can try to make it right.

Non-returnable items
Special orders and personalized pieces can't be returned.

Lost or stolen packages
I'm not responsible for packages confirmed delivered to the address on the order — including ones taken by thieving roommates or porch pirates.

One thing worth knowing: carriers sometimes mark a package "delivered" when it actually reached your local facility, not your door. Those usually arrive the next business day, or you can pick them up locally. Watch the tracking I email you so you can follow the progress and the estimated delivery date.

Shipping delays
By ordering, you accept that I'm not responsible for carrier delays — they happen. Most orders arrive within the posted window, but factors outside my control can slow things down. If your order runs well past the normal time, contact me and I'll do what I can to help sort it out.
